Nail Reconstruction
Polygel nail reconstruction is a popular method used in nail care and beauty. It involves the application of a flexible, durable, and lightweight material called polygel onto the natural nail to enhance its appearance and strength. Polygel is a hybrid between acrylic and hard gel, offering the benefits of both while minimising their drawbacks.
The process begins with preparing the natural nail by cleaning, shaping, and gently buffing the surface to create an ideal base for the polygel application. A primer may be applied to promote adhesion and prevent lifting.
Next, a small amount of polygel is dispensed onto the nail surface and carefully sculpted into the desired shape using special brushes and tools. Unlike traditional acrylics, polygel is odourless and does not require mixing or monomer liquid, making it a more user-friendly option.
Once the polygel is sculpted to perfection, it is cured under a LED or UV lamp to harden and set the material. This curing process typically takes a few minutes, depending on the type of lamp used and the thickness of the polygel layer.
After curing, the newly reconstructed nail may be further shaped, filed, and buffed to achieve the desired look and smoothness. Additional layers of polygel can be applied for added strength and thickness if needed.
Polygel nails are known for their natural look, flexibility, and durability. They can be customised with various colours, finishes, and nail art designs to suit individual preferences. With proper care and maintenance, polygel nail reconstructions can last for several weeks without chipping or lifting, providing a long-lasting and beautiful enhancement to the natural nails.
